The dealers can program as built data for you to make sure the IPC correctly functions for the options in your truck. My method got me my exact mileage so I didn't have to mess around with all that. Then you gotta drive around with your old cluster and pull over to swap when you hit the mileage of new cluster. There are 3rd party services that will correct mileage for you, but they cost about $100 and they can only put you with a few hundred miles of your desired mileage. You can't copy the whole EEPROM from old to new because the LCD EEPROM has twice as much storage as the old EEPROM (I assume it's needed for the extra trailering functions but I'm not sure). I bought an EEPROM programmer off Amazon and some clips to attach to chip while it was still on the board, dumped the contents of the EEPROM from the old and new clusters, compared them, and then copied the section with mileage from the old to the new one. From reading about this swap on the 15+, dealers can program the mileage but most will refuse or don't know how if it's not a brand new cluster.
